14 | Chinese lesson: PinYin

Our chinese class used to start everyday from 9am onwards for the past 4 weeks. We would usually start off by repeating and going over what we learnt from the day before as a refresher. Everyday there would be different theme (room items, office, transports etc). However, it was not always classwork. We would also have fun subject related games during the class. Following 2 hours of the class we would have 2 hours of lunch break where we would usually go to “Guang Dong (Restaurant)”. After lunch it would be straight to class for another hour session. In my opinion, the classes were really useful and necessary for an individual like me who couldn’t even speak a sentence in mandarin and who had to heavily depend on the universal language of hand signs (pointing at things and using fingers to ask the price). Even though every morning I had to wake up and drag myself to the class, I miss it now.
